Folio – for Dynamic Document Management

Developed for Flare’s consulting team, and now in daily in use in some of the world’s largest energy companies, Folio delivers a dynamic document management environment based on rigorous information management principles.

Folio is designed to address challenges such as:

  • Detecting and eliminating duplication of files in document stores and file shares
  • Enabling instant search across all documents in an organisation, no matter where they’re stored
  • Implementing standardised naming conventions for engineering and other controlled documents
  • Classifying documents and enriching document metadata as part of standardised document flows
  • Routing documents automatically to enterprise document management systems

Folio integrates with common industry document stores, including Microsoft SharePoint and OpenText LiveLink, as well as standard network file shares, enabling all documents to be searched in a single, rapid query, without the need for documents to be moved or duplicated.

Integrations are also available with physical records management platforms such as eSearch, enabling a one-stop view of all physical and digital documents within the organisation. This is invaluable for physical archives rationalisation projects, as enrichment of archive listings using relationships held within the Flare Taxonomies enables more accurate prioritisation of digitisation activities by document value, decommissioning timelines, or other organisation objectives.

Folio can be deployed in the cloud or on-premise, and is powered by the Flare Taxonomies, the largest hand-curated energy industry knowledge graph in the world, providing deep insight into the relationships between industry topics, documents, acronyms and abbreviations.
