Workshop delivery with senior management.

The client, a regional oil and gas regulatory agency, was in the process of reviewing its mandate and operations model. Flare was engaged to develop and deliver a workshop on regulatory information management for senior staff. The objective was to identify and explore opportunities and options for improving service to the industry and other stakeholders based on improved access to oil and gas information.

Flare’s Approach

Based on first-hand experience working with regulators in several jurisdictions and with many E&P companies that interact with regulatory authorities, Flare’s virtual team compiled a presentation that overviewed current regulatory best-practices across the global industry. Benefits and challenges of various approaches were reviewed and the potential for new capabilities driven by emerging techniques and technologies explored.

Benefits/Outcomes

The workshop established a common understanding of public E&P information gathering, management, control and distribution approaches. Facilitated discussion of the inherent benefits, challenges and opportunities provided a foundation for planning the future role and direction of the regulator, a starting point for an organisational capability model, and the basis for further discussions with the industry and other stakeholders.
