Flare was founded in 1998 as an organization specializing in E&P Information Management by an executive team who are all experienced E&P professionals with backgrounds in geology, geophysics, petroleum engineering and operations. At that time we believed that the E&P industry was unable to extract full value from its extensive information assets and that, by taking a business-focussed approach to information management, we could make a difference. We have since worked with all sizes of company from small independents to global super-majors as well as service companies, regulators and industry organizations and have added both broad and in-depth E&P IM experience and technical expertise. Our work ranges from IM assessments, strategy development and standards creation through development and integration of new technology and IM operational excellence, to leading change management and establishing IM measurements. We are also involved in leading-edge research projects and are recognised as thought leaders in the industry. Our people are both geographically and experientially diverse and work in virtual teams to deliver quickly, capably and cost-effectively to our global client base.
