Deployment of Flare’s E&P Catalog with client specific customisation

Project Description/Issue

Our client, an E&P company was seeking a solution to enhance their information classification and help solve the challenges of finding information across their organisation. In addition the solution needed to be able to manage our client’s physical E&P archive library to be able to capture and track loan procedures thereby enhancing visibility of their information assets.

Flareā€™s Approach

Our approach was to deploy Flare’s E&P Catalog integrated with Flare’s Oil and Gas Taxonomies to classify our client’s electronic information. In addition, Flare developed additional features within the E&P Catalog; a ‘Warehouse’ module, to manage our client’s physical E&P archive library.

We then assisted our client by migrating the metadata for over 350,000 electronic items, 175,000 physical items and 1.9 million files and configured the additional ‘Warehouse’ module to be able to capture and track loan procedures for their physical information assets.

Benefits/Outcomes

Using a defined set of metadata values enables our client to readily find information assets across their organisation. In addition, information assets are able to be associated with both physical and electronic documents and files. The customised warehouse function enables the client to more readily track their information assets and record lending activities for physical information assets.
